Welcome to Abbey Kay — a place to be filled with encouragement through real life struggles, a source to ethical fashion & trendy finds, & a guide to my life in Reno, NV.

A few things about me: I desperately want others to know they are seen, heard, & not alone. I believe you should love your body at every stage in life. I think finding a balance in everything you do is more important than striving for perfection. I will always drink black coffee & never not have black nails. I try my best to be open, honest, & real by showing up for others.

Always know that life is unpredictable, but it’s still worth experiencing every up & down it has to offer.

I’m so glad you’re here & can’t wait to connect!

  • three shops, one outfit

So many things making a debut here on abbey kay today. Each of the items, including the shops, & their owners give me daily inspiration. These pieces were all hand picked & hand made with care & creativity in mind by an individual. That’s my favorite thing about supporting small companies, in turn you’re…

  • midtown adventure

I took these pictures on Saturday & I gotta say, these have to be one of my most favorite outfit shoots recently. Not just because of the outfit, let’s face it, I love all of my outfits. But because of how I spent my morning leading up to these few colorful shots.  I got…

  • nastygal peasant top

Lately, I’ve been livin’ for the weekend. I just recently became a full-time nanny working the norm of Monday thru Friday. I change diapers, clean up spilled milk, sing songs,  play cars, wipe off sticky hands, & cuddle as often as needed. But it doesn’t leave much time to pick out a cute outfit,…

  • let it speak for itself

One of my most favorite things about fashion is when it’s bold enough to speak for itself. When it’s daring & drastic & mysterious just in the way it’s being worn. Pieces like this tell stories the second you walk into a room. They create chatter & imagination. They make wonder & judgement. They…

  • lush cosmetics review

When I went to LA back in February I was able to go to my first ever Lush Cosmetics store. It was such an experience. Before then, I didn’t think much about the products I used to wash/take care of my face. I used whatever was cheapest & functional. But after visiting their Pasadena store…

  • a bright pop of color

It is honestly quite possible for me to wear something other than an all black outfit. These pictures are proof that I do on occasion love to wear a good solid statement piece that ends up doing all the talking for me. Black says stay away, but this color speaks loudest of all &…

  • all black outfit

If you’ve been following me for quite some time or (probably) even just a few posts back, then you know by now tnat black is my happy color. It truly is. I wear it most often, I feel the best when wearing it, & I feel I look my best while draped in the…

  • thrifting on a weekday

For about the last year now I’ve been working weekends & have had a few weekdays off. Which means I’ve had a complete opposite schedule than everybody else in my life. It’s been hard & lonely at times not being able to see the ones you love or having to squeeze in face time…

  • madewell dress for easter

Ever heard of the notorious brand Madewell? They’re known for their perfect leather tote bags & stylish simplistic clothing line. I’ve scoped out their shop on IG for months now & even stepped into one of their stores while in LA. I’ve been envious of them for quite some time now & indecisive me…

  • some spring thoughts & goals

Spring has officially been sprung for a few weeks now.  And with it comes sunshine, warmer days, neighborhood walks, blooming trees, lighter nights, & new dreams. To me, spring has always been a time to think about new beginnings. You’ve let the winter cold thaw off your hibernated mood & you’re ready for adventure…
