Welcome to Abbey Kay — a place to be filled with encouragement through real life struggles, a source to ethical fashion & trendy finds, & a guide to my life in Reno, NV.

A few things about me: I desperately want others to know they are seen, heard, & not alone. I believe you should love your body at every stage in life. I think finding a balance in everything you do is more important than striving for perfection. I will always drink black coffee & never not have black nails. I try my best to be open, honest, & real by showing up for others.

Always know that life is unpredictable, but it’s still worth experiencing every up & down it has to offer.

I’m so glad you’re here & can’t wait to connect!

  • take me back to la & the beach

I never ended up showing y’all the outfit I wore on my last day in LA during my vacation last month. It was one of my most favorite looks & was perfect for a sunny Sunday in Cali where we drank flat whites, downed donuts, went shopping, & ended up at the beach.  That’s…

  • relaxed pants for spring

There’s just something to be said about the relaxed pant look. It’s got the professional vibe paired with the pajama pant feel & I love every bit of it. You can dress them up or down & they go well with either heels or flats. In my opinion, they’re the most versatile pair of…

  • it’s spring & i want things

We’re just days into the sunny season of spring & that means putting the chunky sweaters away & digging out all the flirty trends from last year. My fave’s from last spring were definitely harem pants & crop tops tees. I just couldn’t get enough because I loved those things! This year crops are back…

  • turtlenecks & the longline vest transitional piece

Can you believe that today is the last day of winter? I can’t! We didn’t have too cold of a season here in Reno, but I’m so ready for spring! Bring on the chirpin’ birds, the short sleeves, the bloomin’ trees, flow-y dresses, & the anticipation of summer! I just adore everything about transitioning…

  • leather jackets can be found under BA in the dictionary

Edit I’m just gonna go ahead & say it… There’s just something so bad ass about wearing a black leather jacket. I don’t care who you are, where you’re from, what social status you claim, or what generation you were born into. The leather jacket will forever be timeless & it will…

  • truself organics: detoxifying mask review

A few weeks ago I discovered the Truself Organics company via Instagram & was really excited to be checking out their detoxifying mask. It shipped super quickly & came in the cutest & most eco-friendly packaging. Last week, I tried out the mask for the first time & am now so glad to have crossed paths…

  • the day i wore a blazer (& liked it!)

I’m not the business type of girl. It just ain’t me. I’m not someone who wants to dress up in office appropriate attire & sit at a computer inside a three walked cubicle all day long. I have a greater desire to work on my feet & use my imagination in my everyday work…

  • bloglovin’ love

Hey guys! Just here for a quick post to let you all know that you can now follow me along over on the site BLOGLOVIN’. Most awesome thing about it is that it’s an app for your smartphone too! You can find me on there by searching “abbey kay” or click this link right here. Don’t know…

  • rainy day in downtown la

Day two in LA was all sorts of fun, adventurous, feet tiring (seriously, this day killed em), & an all around knowledge about what weekend life would be like if I lived in the city. You can read about my entire trip here because this post is all the about the outfit.  I’d call…

  • the truth behind less make-up

A few months back I wrote some thoughts on what make-up means to me & why I choose to wear it. You can read the whole thing here, but it’s main point is that wearing make-up helps make me feel most like myself. I’m someone who has been an avid make-up wearer ever since…
