Welcome to Abbey Kay — a place to be filled with encouragement through real life struggles, a source to ethical fashion & trendy finds, & a guide to my life in Reno, NV.

A few things about me: I desperately want others to know they are seen, heard, & not alone. I believe you should love your body at every stage in life. I think finding a balance in everything you do is more important than striving for perfection. I will always drink black coffee & never not have black nails. I try my best to be open, honest, & real by showing up for others.

Always know that life is unpredictable, but it’s still worth experiencing every up & down it has to offer.

I’m so glad you’re here & can’t wait to connect!

  • monday morning encouragement: say goodbye to the monday feels

If you’ve got the Monday feels, then raise your hand. Did you do it? Well I’m just gonna assume that you did. Because you’re human. Because you’re at work. Because it’s not the weekend. And mainly because we all hate Monday’s because it’s the day that feels like death.  We left our life back there…

  • the new year ahead

It’s already a week into the new year & I’m just now getting around to writing the typical “new year, new me” post. I’m not really a big goal setter in life, but with having this space to share my life on it sort of helps me to grow in this area publicly. Goals aren’t…

  • monday morning encouragement: all you can do is try, & then try harder

It’s the beginning of the year, the beginning of the month, the beginning of the week today, & we’re all hoping that it’s a better beginning. We want a better us. We want a better life. We want better health, a better body, a better mindset; overall a better world we surround ourselves in. But…

  • a look back at my 2015 through outfits

It’s the last day of 2015 & I seriously can’t believe it’s already here. Honestly, it’s so wild to think about how fast time moves & how much just a single year can bring. A lot can change & a lot can stay the same, & you never know what the next 364 days will…

  • monday morning encouragement: when all hope seems to be lost, it’s really not

If you’re friends with me for more than a week then you’ll soon found out that I’m pretty clumsy. Last weekend for instance, I fell down the stairs at my friend’s house because my shoes slipped. The weekend before that I hit my head climbing into my own car. And this past weekend I…

  • top knot goods & a purple wall

I haven’t done an outfit blog post since late summer & I’m so glad I was able to do an inpromtu one this past weekend. It’s been hectic & busy the past few months & I’m so glad for normal life to begin again as the new year rolls…

  • monday morning encouragement: remember what it’s all about

It’s Christmas week! And that’s the most exciting thing ever. But today, you’re probably stuck at work, running around frantically finishing up shopping, or in a crowded loud house with your screaming  kids because they’re on school break. You’re most likely stressed, tired, over baking Christmas cookies, upset your pants don’t fit, & are…

  • an ode to being 22 & to hoping they’ll still like me when I’m 23…

Today is my birthday & I am now 23. It’s weird to be this older age, yet still so young. A lot has happened this last year; tons of things that were welcoming & a few things that were completely uninviting. This year had it’s moments where it pushed me & shaped me, & one’s…

  • laugh a little: because tomorrow’s my birthday

Tomorrow is my birthday, & the greatest gift of all is laughter. So if you want to get me a gift, then just read this post & laugh away. I feel like the Internet grabbed these thoughts straight out of my head. Except for the ones about food, those ones they took from my…

  • monday morning encouragement: give what you can, because it is always enough

It’s that time of the year where I feel like we’re expected of so much—so much giving, so much gifting, so much spending, so much needed time, so much, so much, so much. It’s an overwhelming season & it drains the best of us. Most of us just feel like we have nothing left…
