summer into fall transition pieces with macy’s

Summer is always such a fun season. Even as an adult it’s a time where you go on so many adventures just enjoying the weather & the late evening light. But the heat gets to you eventually, & you can’t help but dream about Fall. Layers, booties, denim jackets, & dark colors are about to be back in action & thanks to Macy’s I found the best pieces to carry me from Summer to Fall. I always love working with Macy’s because they offer a personal shopper service that makes finding items & sizes a breeze. The My Stylist center has large private fitting rooms & is very helpful in helping you to find exactly what you’re looking for & needing. It’s always such a joy to shop with Suzi Royls, on of the stylists there, & she always helps me to walk away in a killer outfit that makes me feel good about myself!

I’m not gonna lie, we had a really hard time finding items this go around. A lot of the options we were trying out just weren’t working. The first item we snagged that I was instantly in love with was the Levi’s Denim Jacket that fit a bit oversized. I loved the wash of the denim & had been wanting to add one just like it to my closet. But honestly, it was so hard to find items to go with it. Either certain pants didn’t fit me, or a jumper didn’t hang right, or we couldn’t find items that I liked. Everyone’s been there before while shopping, right? But with persistence Suzi & I finally found these super simple swing dresses from Free People & I was obsessed! I love them. They’re so perfect for nice days during Summer & layering looks in Fall. We decided to add another piece to the looks & found a kimono with crocheted lace in lingerie department…oo-la-la!

Once we found all four pieces I was so excited to get them home to style them a few different ways. I grabbed a pair of white tennies & some new ankle booties because they could go with both dresses easily. And I couldn’t put together an outfit without my popular brown felt hat that I wear in almost every photo pretty much. And my bag of choice was a Walter & George splattered clutch to mix & match with some of the looks for Summer date nights into afternoon river walks in Fall.

Look One

White Free People Dress. Denim Jacket. Brown Booties. Splashed Clutch.

This white dress looks so cute on (a little short on me!) & it paired perfeclty with the denim jacket for a fancy Summer look when worn with the booties. I’d wear this look to coffee on a Saturday morning or to even run errands.

unspecified-5.jpgunspecified-6.jpgLook Two

White Dress, Denim Jacket. White Tennies. Speckled Clutch.

This is the same look as above, but I switched out the booties for comfy tennis shoes. I love the double use of white in this look & would wear this outfit on a day when I visited a new city & needed something comfy to wear, but still wanted to look cute!

Look Three

Black Dress. Kimono. Booties. Speckled Clutch.

This combo of the black dress & the kimono screams sexy date night to me. I would totally consider wearing this outfit for a first date or even a night out with the girls.

Look Four

Black Dress. Denim Jacket. Booties. Crocheted Clutch. Raybans.

Black & denim are the perfect combo for heading into Fall. I love how the cream in the bag balances out the look. Perfect day date outfit.

Look Five

Black Dress. Denim Jacket. White Tennis Shoes. Felt Hat.

Can’t you just see this outfit at the pumpkin patch? I definitely can! Again, totally love the balance if this look. Somehow the black dress works with the white shoes even with the brown hat!

I want to thank Macy’s for providing me with these looks! And a special thanks of course to all the ladies at the Mystylist center at my local Macy’s here in Reno who always make my shopping experience fun & exciting!
