Sometimes I just don’t know what to say. I come here to this space every week hoping to know exactly what to say in order to bring encouragement to others. Sometimes, I don’t know the words or phrases that need to be typed out on order to do just that. I’m not holy or a guru, & I definitely don’t have all the answers. Heck, today I don’t even feel like I have the words to say to you to help you keep going. Who else is just feeling “off” today?
Here’s what I’m going to say to myself & those of you who are right there with me in this moment…
It’s okay to not be okay.
If you’ve followed along for awhile now then you’ve heard me say this phrase before. I am not a naturally positive person. I see the doubt, I see the downside, I see the demise, & I don’t always have the most “chipper” thing to say. I am not someone who is always bright & energetic & happy with life. I am someone who feels what she feels when she feels it & has recognized that in order to come out of it, I have to just let myself live in it first.
So, if you’re someone who is suffering today, or is sad, or confused, or at a crossroad, or is lonely, or feels lost, or doesn’t know up from down, it’s okay to not be okay today.
Be sad.
Be upset.
Mourn. Cry.
Question life & humanity.
You don’t have to fake a smile today. Just feel what you need to feel.
Tomorrow will come & we can try again to have a better day.
Dont feel the pressure to have to have it all together all the time. Life happens, & we need to allow ourselves true moments of frustrations, & tears, & anger, & heartache sometimes.
If you’re not okay today, that’s okay.
Because you are going to be okay, soon.
Always know that it’s okay to not be okay.
