babes unite crewneck outfit sponsored by salon lux in reno

Hello winter! Reno has finally decided that it would like to partake in the season & be cold, & snowy. I’m not complaining because these desert grounds could always use the water so a little bit of snow is always good for us! And I especially don’t mind the cold now that I have a new & super soft crewneck sweatshirt that says babe UNITE on it all thanks to the gals over at Salon Lux located here in Reno. I seriously love crewnecks & think that the possibilities are endless when it comes to styling them into cute & presentable outfits despite what people think about the simplicity of them. This particular crewneck is in my favorite colors, black & white, & it promotes Reno & girls in unity. Keep scrolling to see how I put this look together & to find out about it’s unique story.

It’s owned by two friends, Lindsay Lu & Carissa Miles, & it’s a perfectly cool hair oasis tucked away in an old stand alone brick building. They cover all the basics from men’s, kids, & women’s hair cuts, to coloring, balayage, smoothing treatments, bridal services, extensions & more. But honestly what makes this salon so unique is the environment the moment you walk in. I’ve been inside a few times & it makes this photo taker’s heart melt. From the white couch under the window sill that frames a soft pink wall, to the fireplace across the room adorned with wood detail, to the neon signage in the front window, I just want this salon to be my living room! It’s really just the cutest space ever & I love the vibes they send through their owners, stylists, & space.

She told me the story of how they came up with what to put on the sweatshirts. She said that they call their stylists Lux babes & that they use UNITE products, so it just seemed fitting to combine both when wanting to represent their salon & express their love for community. I’m someone who loves when a simple saying or brand’s tagline also has a second meaning or story behind it. I’m so glad she shared that with me!

I wore the babes UNITE crewneck with my Levi’s 721 High-Rise Ripped Skinny Jeans that I got from Macy’s. I almost always tuck in my tops whenever I wear jeans & it definitely adds a more feminine feel when you’re wearing a sweatshirt. I added a neck-tie scarf that I bought locally from The Nest & a hat & pair of geomoetric sunglasses that I bought a few years ago from Nastygal before they went out of business. Here’s a similar pair of sunglasses from Amazon, a similar hat from Urban Outfitters, & a similar neck-tie scarf from Madewell. My shoes are just a classic faux leather pointed toe bootie that I got from Tj Maxx at the beginning of the fall season, & here’s similar booties from Forever 21.

I really loved shooting this outfit in front of Salon Lux last weekend, & enjoyed connecting with the owners of the salon as well! I’m obsessed with this crewneck & can’t wait to give one away over on my Instagram next week, so be sure to follow along over here. I’m really excited to be teaming up with the Lux babes over the next few months so be on the lookout for more content inspired by them soon!

Always know that you can chase your dreams & support others in the community all at the same time!
