I can’t believe it’s already the middle of March. Spring is in the air & summer dreaming is right around the corner. I’m someone who says she only likes certain seasons, but as soon as the next one is about to roll around I can’t wait for it to begin! So before it’s all warmer days & sunny evenings, I’d figure now would be the best time to do a quick winter recap & to show you the rest of the images from my snow covered birthday photoshoot.
This winter was honestly rough for me. I’m still broken from my grandpa’s passing & have some seriously hard days. But I’m learning how to find joy again despite all that’s happened. My grandpa always let me be me & I think that if he understood all that I did, with this blog & everything else in my life, he’d be proud. And I need to remember that it’s okay to still be sad, but that ultimately he just wanted me to be happy. I need to work on finding whatever it is that will do just that.
The past few months I’ve taken more adventures & forced myself to live outside of my daydreaming & in reality. I’ve grown relationally & have let some pretty cool people enter into my life that have changed me for the better. It’s pretty wild how good life can be if you just open up & go somewhere you never thought you’d be able to let yourself wander. I’ve made a few mistakes along the way, but I’ve learned that opening up is okay & that it’s better to live life this way.
Through this blog & my Instagram I’ve gotten the opportunities to work with some killer companies both nationwide & local & I’m proud to be building relationships & branding. It’s a crazy community to be a part of & I’m always so glad that my 19 year old self decided to jump all in a few years ago not knowing what could come of it. The hard work is starting to pay off & this is one of my most favorite adventures I’ve ever been on.
The photoshoot displayed above with my good friend Taylor was the best way to kick off winter & I’m so happy I have the images to look back on. As we drove straight into a storm to capture these images, that just got worse & worse with each mile, it totally created an unexpected mantra for the season…
Sometimes when life is hard & you see the unavoidable storm ahead, keep going, press through it, because in the middle of the mess, in the middle of the chaos & hidden behind all the snow covered corners, there’s a thing of beauty that was created to be found. Find it, & know that trekking through the storms are always worth it in the end.
This is something I’m learning to live into. It’s tough, but it’s life.
